Political and Legislative Action
![]() Local 391 and the entire Teamsters Union are active at all levels of government. Your help is critical to passing laws that benefit workers and their families. Here is how to get involved: Read Local 391 legislative updates and come to union meetings. Familiarize yourself with the candidates and the legislation that impacts your job, family and/or community. Join with other Teamsters in rallies, letter writing, or visits to politicians in their offices. Encourage your family, neighbors, and friends to register and vote. During elections, Teamsters staff phone banks, canvass neighborhoods, and distribute campaign material to promote our issues and pro-labor candidates. By contributing $2 per week to DRIVE (Democrat Republican Independent Voter Education) you help give working people a voice in politics. The union's political action committee - DRIVE - is the biggest political action fund in the U.S. today. Ask your Shop Steward or Business Agent how to sign up.
